The Secretariat of Ulama Assembly of Asia (SHURA) strongly condemns the barbaric attacks by Israel on Gaza. We are outraged not only by the massacre but by the inaction of the Muslim countries neighbouring Gaza . They are equally responsible for the sufferings inflicted on the Gaza citizens for they very well know that the attacks was imminent. Even the siege which has dragged on for more than a year by Israel should have triggered a response by the neighbouring governments to assist the Gaza people . And yet after the Israel Saturday air strike , they have remained indifferent to the plea by the Gaza people to open the Egyptian border.

We reject and condemn the statements by the Israel Foreign Minister and Washington alleging that HAMAS was responsible for this conflict and that the Israel offensive was justified. It is an outrageous lie by the Israel and the US to put the fault on HAMAS , while it is Israel with the consent by US that has initiated the illegal economic blockade , abduction and killings of HAMAS leaders in Gaza.

SHURA therefore believes that It is of immediate necessity that all Muslim governments to now work on a concerted effort of forming an international Muslim military force that could deter any foreign aggression on Muslim countries and communities.

SHURA call for an immediate action by all Muslim governments and organizations to :

1. Strongly condemn Israel for its murderous act and US for conspiring with Israel .

2. To suspend all diplomatic relationship with US.

3. To condemn the Egyptian government for compounding the sufferings of the Gaza people by closing its borders.

4. An immediate meeting be convened by all Muslim leaders to initiate a united response to defend the Gaza people and its sovereignty .

5. To launch global worldwide boycott on all Israel and US products and services.

6. To boycott all US socio-political functions worldwide.

7. To call for an immediate condemnation by the UN and convening of the Security Council to halt the attacks by Israel on Gaza.

SHURA also calls for all ulama in all Muslim communities to rally every Muslims for a special Hajat prayers and lead a demonstration to invoke a strong reaction to the Gaza massacre .

We call upon the Malaysian Parliament to issue a motion of condemnation and the Foreign Ministry to initiate a quick humanitarian response to assist the besieged Gaza people.
